Arlette Hovinga is a publicist and marketing director with years of experience in education and PR. She is the author of How To Build Relationships In The Music Industry, a seasoned guest lecturer, and an obsessed media outreach professional, always looking to create opportunities for artists to make their lives just a tiny bit easier.
Her background is in stage management and production, a gig that got her to work with artists such as The Four Tops, Jeff Goldblum, and, through Earth Beat Agency (now EBB Music), Fatoumata Diawara and Roberto Fonseca. But it started way before that: at the age of 13, she started her first band, playing rock and pop covers in front of whichever audience the group could find. At 16, she was stage managing local festivals, and from there, all her parents’ hope to graduate law school were lost (although she spent two years studying copyright law).
